1st time away from the baby....

On Saturday Jeff & I left Makenzie for the first time! We had a wedding to go to in Long Island so Jeff's mom & sister Kathy came from NJ to babysit! It was hard to leave her but it was nice knowing she was in good hands! We came home to a sleeping baby, a tired dog (they brought their dog to keep Mika busy!) and a clean apartment!! Not too bad!! Thanks Tia Kathy & Abuela!! Makenzie had a great time!

Jeff & I had a fun time at the wedding! This was our first outing as parents so it was a little weird not having Makenzie with us! I also had my first drink in about 11 months! 1st a glass of wine than my favorite Vodka & Diet coke! I felt very old b/c by 11:00 pm I was ready for bed while everyone else was on the dance floor! Luckily Makenzie let me sleep in the next morning...after only 3 drinks I had a headache the next day! Man, things have changed since college!
I wanted to put Makenzie in a pretty brown dress that my sister bought her and take cute family pics before the wedding but unfortunately I didn't realize how long it takes to get ready for a wedding with a baby!

I thought this pic was cute until I noticed the spit up coming out of Makenzie's mouth!

Daddy Time!

Makenzie spent the day with Daddy watching the Mets! Daddy thought Makenzie would be his little good luck charm but unfortunately the Mets lost their last game at Shea Stadium!






**Daddy wants it to be known that he did not put the bow on Makenzie-What is it with men not liking bows??? I think she looks adorable!

My little 7 week old!

I can't believe Makenzie is 7 weeks already! Time is flying by and before I know it she will be turning 1! She is becoming more & more fun as the days pass. Despite her daily fussy time (anywhere from 6pm til she falls asleep) she is full of smiles! Her whole face lights up when she smiles & it melts my heart!! She also follows my face & toys from side to side. She now likes her swing & bouncy chair! Both keep her content for some time & eventually she falls asleep, which gives me some time to myself! She also fits into 0-3 now, which makes my mornings fun when I get to pick out new clothes for her to wear!

Being 6 years younger than my sister I never thought we would have children around the same time let alone 10 weeks from one another!! Even though they are only babies I think they are already BFF! How cute are they t/g?!?

1 month Doctor Visit

Yesterday Makenzie had her 2nd Doctor appointent. She is now 10 pounds & 21 1/2 inches long! Our little pumpkin is getting big! Here are some cute pics of Makenzie...she was in such a happy mood & full of smiles so I had to take some pics!

Makenzie's 1st trip Upstate!

This past week Makenzie & I went upstate to see my family. I rented a car and Makenize & I had our 1st little road trip! Despite the 5 hour drive Makenzie was a trooper! She only made me pull over once to nurse her in the middle of nowhere! (And thanks to Aunt Kathy & Daddy, Makenzie & I didn't have to make the trip back to they city alone!) Before this week my mom was the only person in my family who has met Makenzie so everyone was very excited to meet the newest addition to our family!

I spent 2 nights in Syracuse where Makenzie met her Uncle Scott & Aunt Emily, Aunt Jennifer & Uncle Carl & cousin Cody and her Great Grandpa & Great Grandma Moebs! The rest of our time upstate we spent in Binghamton at my sister, Jeannine's house (Makenzie's Aunt NeeNee). While in Binghamton she met her cousins Sophia, Ella & baby Abbie (who is only 10 weeks older than Makenzie!) I thought I would take a lot of pictures of the kids together but surprisingly it's rather stressful to get 2 two year olds and 2 newborns to pose for pics! Unfortunately Ella was a sick little girl so she could not give her cousin kisses but Sophia gave enough kisses to Makenzie to make up for it! Can't tell ya how many times I heard Sophie say "I lub her" and "she's booty-full"

My other half

On Friday my best friend, Justine & her family (aka Team Garcia) came down to the city for the night to visit us! Justine has a 2 year old daughter, Tatiana & it was great seeing Tati & Makenzie together for the first time! Even though the age difference is too large now to play t/g, we know they will grow up to be great friends like Justine & I are! I still can't believe that Justine & I went from being crazy 18 year old college freshmen to having daughters of our own! Our stories have gone from the what we did last friday night to breasfeeding & how to change a diaper w/out getting peed on! I'm so happy we continue to be such great friends & I so excited to one day live closer to her and her family!
