Brr...it's cold!

Yesterday Kenzie & I ventured out in spite of the nasty cold weather! I bundled Kenzie up in her new snowsuit, boots and hat! This snowsuit use to be my best friend's daughter's suit and ever since she gave it to Kenzie I have been looking forward to seeing Kenzie in it! We were only out for about 20 minutes but it was a much needed break from being stuck indoors all day!
This is the first time Kenzie was able to touch the snow. She went right for it, but did not like it on her fingers! She whined and made me wipe the snow off her hand.
Kenzie would walk on the snow and then say "uh oh" because she was scared to walk back. It was so cute! This picture is of her scared look when she thought she had walked too far off the sidewalk.

16 months is fun!

Jeff & I are loving this age! Kenzie is so much fun these days!

I wanted to post a few things she's doing at this age otherwise I'm sure I'll forget....

**Loves to play hide & seek and will hide in the same spot every time!

**Just discovered she can pick her own nose....and does it frequently! hehe

**LOVES Barney & The Wiggles!

**She's an early bird and continues to get up earlier each day....today it was 5:00 and for 20 minutes straight she called for "MAMA"!

**Between only having 4 1/2 teeth, being a very picky eater and having a milk allergy there's only a few things (other than cookies and sweets) that she will eat! Her favorites at this moment are: pizza (without the cheese), bagels, Vanilla Soy yogurt, & lasagna...

**Does not enjoy shopping....my mom & I have tried numerous times to take her shopping but each time we end up regretting it!

**Loves her cousins and will scream when she sees them!

**LOVES picking out toe fuzz (from socks)!! I know she will be embarrassed about this one day but I have to share....one day she found a chewed up piece of chicken under her high chair and must have thought it was toe fuzz...b/c the next thing I knew she sat down, lifted up her foot, spread her toes and placed the chewed up chicken in between her toes! HAHA! She even shares her toe fuzz with Mommy & Daddy....she will pick it out and give us pieces! Aww..she has know idea that it's yucky! :)

**Loves throwing garbage in the trash! She will pick up tiny crumbs off the floor and go back and forth to the garbage.
**She still loves blankie and will carry it around all day. She will stuff blankie in her stroller and push it around and will stuff blankie in a pal and carry it around like a purse. So cute!
**Loves books....I feel guiltily if I don't read her 7 or 8 before bed....which makes for a very long bed routine!

**Loves feeding her dolls ba ba's (bottles) She will lay her dolls on her toy box and will take turns feeding them!

I can't believe that in 2 short months our baby will be 18 months! 18 months sounds so old to me! I remember when Kenzie was a newborn and other moms would tell me that they an 18 month old I would think that 18 months is so old! I could not relate b/c to me they did not have a baby they had a little kid! Now I'm the mom looking at these little tiny babies with my 20 pound toddler on my hip...where do the baby months go!?! Come Spring, Kenzie's going to seem ancient...Kenzie has 3 new cousins on the way! 3! All due a month apart! Jeff's sister, Kathy is expecting her first -she's due April 9. My brother and sister-in-law, Emily, are due May 19 also with their first. Lastly, my sister Jeannine is expecting her 4th on June 30! We can't wait to meet the new babies of the family!

Village tree & Breakfast with Santa!

Friday night our town lit the village Christmas tree. It was such a cute night...right out of a Christmas movie! We live right in the village and on the village loud speakers they play Christmas music...it is so nice to walk outside our door and hear Christmas music! On Friday the town had live music playing on the speakers extra loud, we could actually hear it from Kenzie's room! We looked outside and saw a huge parade of people walking towards the tree singing to the music! As we were rushing out the door I had to go back b/c I forgot my camera...and Jeff yelled "OMG we are going to miss the parade!!!" I thought I was going to have to drag him there but instead he was actually excited to go and got upset thinking that we were going to miss the big event!

Kenzie seemed to enjoy herself despite the of lack of excitement on her face in this picture...Her face lit up when she saw the Christmas cookies after the lighting!

On Saturday morning we went to eat breakfast with Santa!! I'm sure this year I am a lot more excited to go to these events than Kenzie but hopefully by next year she'll like them more! We tried to get a picture with Santa but she was not having it!! As soon as I got her close to him she clung on to me and shook her head no! (I tried again later that day at the mall and today at Walmart but she's definitely not feelin' Santa this year!) She did wave and blow the big guy a kiss!

I think the highlight of Kenzie's breakfast was seeing her cousins! When she saw them walk through the door she screamed! So cute...but I wish she could show Santa that same excitement! :)

15 Month Check Up

DSC_0078

Last Wednesday Kenzie had her 15 month check up. She is now up to 20 lbs 8 oz. and 30 1/2 inches long! She is at the 25th percentile for weight and 50th for height. She needed 4 shots but the doctor said that she will not need anymore until she turns 5! Woohoo! The doctor said she looks happy & healthy! :)

Here are some pictures from the day.....

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree....

I was very excited to put up our tree this year since it's Kenzie 1st tree! Last year we moved 2 days before Christmas so it didn't make too much sense to put up a tree! We decided to go with an articfial tree this year...when Kenzie gets a little older I want to start a tradition of going to a tree farm and cutting down our own tree but for now this one will do! Kenzie has been overly "helpful"! I left the room for 2 seconds and she managed to take 2 bulbs off, smash them together and get class everywhere! It's a little hard to explain to a 1 year old that the "balls" on the tree are not toys! :)

Thankful

Oh, I'm so very thankful for our precious, healthy, beautiful baby girl....
(Last Thanksgiving)
I was just telling Jeff how much has changed since last Thanksgiving, and the Thanksgiving before that, and the Thanksgiving before that...
3 Thanksgivings ago I was in LA. I spent the day at a Brazilian restaurant with my coworkers and then went to the gym! Just proves how much has changed...I don't remember the last time I went to the gym and I would NEVER think to go on a holiday! I was miles away from home....
2 Thanksgivings ago Jeff & I had a very fun day. We were on the move all day...going to the Macy's Parade...drinks...dinner in NJ with Jeff's family...out until late! Definitely not a Thanksgiving I was use to and probably will never have another Thanksgiving like it, but it was perfect for us.
Last Thanksgivings Jeff & I wanted a very quiet day with our new little baby. I had to get up the next day at 3 AM to be at work (the joys of retail on Black Friday) so we wanted to stay in and enjoy at day with the family! Jeff's family came from Jersey and we had such a relaxing day...
This Thanksgiving we are spending the morning watching the Macy's Day parade from our living room (probably while chasing an energetic 1 year old around, "playing" with puzzles and most likely flipping back and forth from the parade to The Wiggles). We will head over to my sister's house in the afternoon to have dinner with my family. Our commute will be short (2 or 3 minutes maybe), no crazy holiday traffic in the city, no chaotic train stations, no running to catch a train at Jersey Transit...just a peaceful day with our little girl and my family, that we are so thankful for! (Of course, we are very thankful for Jeff's family too and we will miss them this Thanksgiving...we hope to see you guys very soon!! Kenzie can't wait to find out if she's going to have a new baby boy or girl cousin!!)

Future Syracuse Cheerleader

I thought she looked so cute in her cheerleading outfit so I had to share the pictures!! Uncle Scott & Aunt Emily bought this outfit for Kenzie back when Kenzie was only like 5 months old...at the time I thought it would never fit her...Just another reminder of how big our baby is! :)
