18 month stats & pictures

On Monday Kenzie had her 18 month check up! She did great....well until the nurse & doctor came in! The doctor said Kenzie went through a little growth spurt....
She now weighs 21 lbs 15 ounces....
And is 32 1/2 inches tall....
Kenzie was too cute....when the doctor came in she covered her eyes for a minute or two...that's her newest little trick. I love how babies think if they can't see you then you can't see them!
Everything looked great...and Kenzie does not have another appointment until she's 2!!
Here she is waiting in the waiting room....
The appointment really took its toll on Kenzie and she passed out within minutes of being in the car...
Here are some random pictures from the past week or so....
The other day I came home to find that Daddy put a pony in Kenzie's hair...I was so proud of him that I had to take a picture! Cute, right?
This girl loves her back scratched! The other night Kenzie fell asleep while Grampy was scratching her back!
I sometimes think that Kenzie could play hide & seek all day long...
She only has about 3 0r 4 hiding spots but that doesn't matter!
She will hide in the same spots over & over again but it's still just as fun!

Kenzie got these bath time crayons from Santa and we finally used them! They are so cute! Kenzie is going through an "anti-bath" phase so any new bath toy helps! She loves them and has not tried to eat them yet!

She had a crayon consuming moment not too long ago and Daddy had to scrape red crayon off her teeth but not before she drooled all over her outfit and sofa!

I'm in love with Kenzie's hair when it's wet! I could just play with her curls all night....

Valentine's Day 2010

Happy Valentine's Day! We had a nice quiet day...Jeff had to work so Kenzie and I spent most of the day indoors!

Jeff & I wanted to celebrate V-Day yesterday since he had to work all day today...so we waited until Kenzie woke up from a nap and then ventured out. We had to stop by a couple stores before we went out to dinner. At the 2nd store Kenzie decided she had enough shopping and she wanted to eat! I managed to get her in her car seat despite the huge meltdown! We choose the closest restaurant which was The Outback....1 hour wait! No way....so we headed back to the car with a screaming toddler, pointing to her mouth for food! I somehow managed to get her back in her car seat despite Kenzie's superhero strength trying to stop me! We drove by Fridays....the parking was way too crowded to even stop...so we kept on driving with a SCREAMING baby in the back. We tried Red Lobster....over 1 hour wait! This time I ran in without taking Kenzie out! So we were off again....and you know where we ended up? McDonalds! Haha! Definitely not the Valentine dinner I wanted but at least Kenzie was happy!
I tried so hard to get a picture of Kenzie but she was not in a picture taking mood today....most of the shots turned out like this....
Eating a Valentine's cookie that we made for Grampy! :)

Yesterday Kenzie had another little play date with Abbie!

I managed to take a few cute pictures of the girls but then they just started making funny faces....haha
I had to laugh when I compared both of these pictures...Abbie & Kenzie have the same exact face! hehe...they are too cute!

Snow Day!

How happy was I when I got the "no school" call today?!? Very happy!!
There is something about a snow day that makes me feel like a kid again!
I was so giddy this morning knowing I could stay home and play outside with Kenzie! It got even better when I realized Jeff was off today too! :)
We played outside and tried out the sled for the 1st time...
Kenzie LOVED it!
It was the cutest thing seeing her in the sled. She looked so tiny! We walked all the way to my sister's house...
Kenzie was very excited to see my sister's house and she even squealed when she saw Grampy outside! Sometimes she acts like she doesn't go there almost everyday! hehe
Before we left for our walk back Kenzie and Abbie had a few minutes to play outside together! :)
Today was snow much fun! hehe :)

18 Months!

DSC_0015

A year and a half! Really!?!? I can't believe tomorrow she will be closer to 2 than to 1! It feels like yesterday when I was planning her 1st birthday! The other day when I was at the bank a lady asked me "How old is she...1 1/2...2? I was so surprised she guessed that old! I still think of her as my baby that just turned 1!
Some fun things Kenzie's up to these days:
*will say "uh-oh" for almost anything! It can be a door that is not closed all the way, the ketchup bottle that does not have a cap on or a random guy with a beard in a grocery store-doesn't matter, it will get an "uh-oh"!
*will pose for picture and say "cheese" (on her own terms of course...not always when Mommy wants a cute pic!)
*Loves dogs...and will point across the street and say "doggie" (without the "g" sound) every time we go outside b/c she saw a dog over there 1 time!
*Kenzie's most common words: Mama, Da Da, Barney (pronounced Ba-eee...we hear it alllll day!), shoes, hat, bubble (one of my favorites to hear her say!), bird, baby, love you (another favorite of mine-it sounds nothing like it but it is sooo cute!), doggie, up, more, balloon, bye-bye, hi, wa-wa (water), no no, Abbie, Baby Bob....and blankie is just "ba"
DSC_0020

*4 teeth on top and 4 on the bottom....still no molars, which makes chewing food pretty hard!
*Will blow kisses to everyone...including strangers!
DSC_0016
*Loves books...her favorites at this time are: The Wheels on the Bus, ABC Book, Goodnight Moon, Moo Baa LaLaLa, Bubbles Bubbles
*Loves "Ring Around the Rosie"
*Loves to sing and dance to Barney and Wiggles....favorite songs: Mr. Sun, Mr. Knickerbocker, If all the Raindrops..., Rock a Bye Your Bear
DSC_0009
*Will still sign for a drink with her finger to her nose....I'm not too sure what the actual sign for drink is!
*Will be in bed around 6:35-6:45 and will wake up usually around 6 but in the past week or so she has slept in til 7!
*Will run and hide when she knows I have to change her diaper, get her dressed or put her coat on!

As always Jeff & I are loving every minute we get to spend with our little 18 month old and can't wait to see what 18-24 has to offer! :)

Kenzie's 1st...

Matilda Jane! :)
051
How cute does she look in Matilda?!?! My sister bought Kenzie this outfit for Christmas and I was so excited to put her in it! It's so different from all of Kenzie's other clothes....while I love it don't expect too many more MJ outfits for Kenzie...they are a little out of our budget for baby clothes! :)
Last week Jeannine and I took the girls to Chuck E Cheese! This time is was a lot more enjoyable! We got there right at 10AM so there might have been 1 or 2 other families in the whole building! The girls had all the rides, games and tunnels to themselves!

Kenzie & Abbie spent most of their time riding in the school bus! Abbie even caused a little scene when my sister told her it was time to leave (sorry for including that Jeannine-just had to let everyone know how much they enjoyed the bus!) Hehe :)

I even was able to take Kenzie through some of the tunnels and down the slide! She loved it! I'm not sure how kids do it....it's so painful to crawl through those tunnels!! :)

043

I'm only posting this picture b/c it's cute of Kenzie.....she loved to look out the tunnel window to see Aunt NeeNee and Grampy! (FYI-I wasn't trying to be in the picture! hehe)

Just an ordinary day...

Just recently I watched a video on another blog called The Gift of an Ordinary Day. Search it on You Tube-it's a really good video...it will make you want to quit your job and spend 24/7 with your kids! :)
DSC_0005
Today I couldn't help taking some pictures of Kenzie on just an ordinary day. Since I was at my sister's house and her camera was just sitting there I had to take advantage. I love her camera and the pictures it takes!
DSC_0010
The video is about how quickly children grow up and how much you miss those ordinary days from when your children were younger...
After watching the video I realized how many things I will miss when Kenzie is older....to list a few:
*the smell when she wakes up (pee pee, drool & sweat)
*changing her diaper
*chasing after her when it's time for bed, diaper change, get dressed...
*hearing her say "Mama" every morning
*Kenzie's own sign for drink....which usually results in a finger up her nose
*holding her
*combing her curls
*watching Barney while holding her
*watching her dance to Barney....
and those are just a few....
