Big things have been going on with little Miss Josie!
She is POTTY TRAINED!
It's actually pretty crazy...she pretty much trained herself!
For a little while I would ask her if she wanted to go potty on the potty and sometimes she would go and sometimes she wouldn't. She still had several wet diapers throughout the day and I wasn't quite ready to really start to train her so I didn't push it. Well about 2 weeks ago she started going on the potty more...so I thought starting the next day (Monday) I was going to get out her undies and really start to train her!
I was expecting weeks of training...
and in maybe 3 days (if that) she was going on the potty for #1 & #2 every time!
I seriously couldn't believe how easy it was.
Now that it's been 1-2 weeks she will often go by herself to the bathroom to use the potty!
Sometimes she will "tell" us (by hitting her fanny) that she has to go or sometimes she'll just take our hand and bring us to the potty. There have been a couple times I walk in the bathroom and look down at her potty and see poop! She goes in, does her thing and leaves! So funny!
In Josie fashion, potty does have to be on her terms.
Sometimes I can be in there with her, sometimes she only wants Kennie and sometimes no one at all. I can't watch her (she tells me no every time she catches me watching her). She has to wipe herself (I always wipe after too!).
She has to help dump peepee/poo in the toilet. She has to flush.
As you can see she's pretty independent! :)
So this brings us to the other big change for Jo....
No. More. Bottle!!
She would take a bottle to bed with her for nap and bedtime.
And almost every night she would soak through her diaper, pjs, blankets....
I knew the time was coming when I had to take away the "ba ba" but I was planning on waitng until she was 2 because quite frankly I was just avoiding it.
She looooved her ba ba and it really made me sad to think of taking it away from her.
She would get so excited to see it and near the end
she was asking for it "brrr" (cold) instead of warm.
But anyway it was kind of a spur of the moment decision one day.
I was about ready to put her down for a nap and I just decided we were done with bottles!
I figured it kind of went hand in hand with potty training.
She wasn't too happy, but it was better than I expected.
She would cry for a couple minutes and ask for "ba ba" but after a few minutes she was asleep.
After 4 or 5 days she was over it! :)
Now she wakes up with dry diapers! She even gets up in the middle of the night to go potty!!
My baby is growing up! Tear. :(
