Makenzie's 5th Birthday

On Tuesday our sweet baby girl turned FIVE!!
I think 5 sounds a lot older than 4!
And 6 sounds a whole lot older than 5....so I hope this next year goes slow!

While I think 5 is old, I laugh (and love) when I watch her and realize how much of a "baby" she really is still....
*wanting to sleep with me every night
*scared of going in another room by herself
*crying when she gets in trouble
*playing with the most random toys
*telling me she's never getting married because she wants to live with us forever
*needing help going potty :)

The day started a little rough...the night before she ran a fever of about 101 out of nowhere...she fell asleep early and woke up fever free, but miserable! :(  She ended up puking in the morning and then slowly got better throughout the day!  By lunchtime she was pretty much back to her normal self!

Before Jeff left for work we let her open one of her gifts from us....
She really wanted this Sophia the First set and was so happy to get it! :)

Josie ate this toy as sister unwrapped her gift...
After a little playing we got dressed and took some birthday pictures outside...
Giving herself bunny ears :)
She obviously has learned that bunny ears are so cool!

While Jeff was at work we played, watched some tv and went for a walk to Grammy's!
She was very happy to get Princess Cadance from Grammy!

Makenzie was super excited for Jeff to come home so she could unwrap the rest of her presents!

This box looks like a baby toy but she has played with this pony castle a lot!  :)
I made a scavenger hunt out of her big present (a new bike).....I wrote a few "clues" which led her to various places, finally leading her to her bike! :)  She was quite excited! She picked this bike out months ago at Walmart....Mommy is very thankful she picked the cheapest one!
{Daddy thought the scavenger hunt was lame, but I thought it was fun!}
After riding the bike around we went in for Chinese (Makenzie's request) and then cookie cake for dessert!
Jeff had to go back to work (yuck!) ....he was suppose to have the day off but unfortunately, one of his employees couldn't make it in so Jeff had to cover for her.  :(   When he left we spent the rest of the night outside riding her new bike and playing with her horse castle (she made me bring it outside).
Getting a little weird when we were singing to her...

I think Josie enjoyed Makenzie's birthday too!
It took her a couple minutes to get use to riding her new bigger bike...but after a few tries she was riding it all over...

And because it was a "special day" Makenzie thought she should be able to sleep in our bed.... :)

So cute...five is a special age because it feels so old yet so young! It was one of my favorite years for Tati! I love the picture you have of Kenzie and Josie next to each other it really shows how different the color of their hair and skin is, yet they are so obviously sisters!
