Birthday Weekend!

My birthday was on Saturday....Makenzie & I met my mom in Syracuse and she took me out to Red Lobster! It was a very nice to spend the day with my little Kenzie since last birthday she was still in my tummy!

On Sunday my best friend Justine took me out to dinner! I was excited to spend my birthday weekend with her since we never had the chance to spend our birthdays t/g in college since we both have summer bdays! I had a great time at dinner and I think Kenzie understood that she was not to interrupt us while we were talking b/c she kept herself entertained by eating almost a whole loaf of bread!

Father's Day in NJ!

We celebrated Father's day down in Jersey! Makenzie woke up extra early (around 5:15 AM to be exact) to wish Daddy a Happy Father's day! Kenzie and I took Daddy out to lunch at Friendly's and did a little shopping and relaxed the rest of the day. I surprised Jeff with Kenzie's onesie....it says "I love my Colombian Daddy". I was looking for something special for Kenzie to wear on Father's day and when I saw this on the internet I knew it was perfect! I even made a blue, yellow and red korker bow to match the Colombian flags in the onesie! Jeff & his family loved it!

We stayed a little less than a week in Jersey....unfortunately my memory card in my camera started acting a little funny so I didn't get many pictures but I know Jeff's sisters & mom took quite a few good ones! Jeff's sisters are fostering 3 little kittens until they find a home and Kenzie LOVED playing with them (or should I say attacking them!)! One time I found Kenzie crawling under the kitchen table to get the smallest kitten and pulling him out by his tail! Poor guy! The other 2 were lucky enough to be faster than Kenzie! Kenzie also had fun playing with her Abuela, Tia and Titi! Like always they spoiled her and of course Kenzie (and Mommy) enjoyed it! While we were there she started taking more and more steps. She is now up to 8 steps in a row!! I can't believe how fast she is improving! Maybe tomorrow she'll take 26 steps in honor of my 26th birthday?!? hehe :)

Father's Day!

We will be spending Father's day weekend down in Jersey with Jeff's family. I just wanted to post something little before we left for Jeff's 1st Daddy's day!

"Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle...
There's two things I know for sure:
She was sent here from heaven and she's daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night
She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes and I thank god for all the joy in my life
Oh, but most of all For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer;
sticking little white flowers all up in her hair;
"Walk beside the pony, Daddy, it's my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny, Daddy, but I sure tried.
In all that I've done wrong I know I must have done something right to deserve a hug every morning and butterfly kisses at night.

Sweet 16 today She's looking like her mama a little more everyday
One part woman, the other part girl.
To perfume and make-up from ribbons and curls
Trying her wings out in a great big world.
But I remember Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer;
sticking little white flowers all up in her hair.
"You know how much I love you, Daddy,
But if you don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time.
"With all that I've done wrong I must have done something right to deserve her love every morning and butterfly kisses at night.
All the precious time Like the wind, the years go by.
Precious butterfly.Spread your wings and fly.

She'll change her name today.

She'll make a promise and I'll give her away.

Standing in the bride-room just staring at her.

She asked me what I'm thinking and I said "I'm not sure-I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl."

She leaned over...gave me butterfly kisses with her mama there,
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
"Walk my down the aisle, Daddy-it's just about time."
"Does my wedding gown look pretty, Daddy? Daddy, don't cry!"
Oh, with all that I've done wrong I must have done something right.
To deserve your love every morning and butterfly kisses-
I couldn't ask God for more, man this is what love is.
I know I gotta let her go,
but I'll always remember every hug in the morning and butterfly kisses.

This song reminds me of the 1st night in the hospital with Makenzie. Jeff had to go home to feed Mika and to take her out...and while he was home he called me saying how much he loves Makenzie already and how he's so excited she's finally here. While he was home he searched the internet to find songs about fathers and daughters and he played this song for me over the phone! It was so cute & it made me so happy to be a family of 3!

During pregnancy I knew Jeff would be a great dad....he was there rubbing my back when I had morning sickness, he picked me up from work when I was too nauseous to ride the train, he left at odd hours to get whatever I was craving with very minimal complaining, he enjoyed shopping for baby clothes (well maybe not....but he faked his enthusiasm very well!) he looked forward to my doctor visits and when he wasn't able to go he made me call him as soon as I got out, he literally jumped for joy when we found out we were having a girl and he very happily told the whole waiting room that he was expecting a girl! He would always rub my belly every night and talk to Makenzie....he helped me up in the middle of the night when I had to get up to pee, and at the very end he helped me through every contraction and he didn't even mind when I dug my nails into him as the contractions got worse and in the delivery room he was a great coach and helped me push Kenzie out!

When Kenzie was an infant Jeff helped whenever he could. He changed many yucky diapers (getting pooped and peed on numerous times) he woke up with me many times as I nursed Kenzie and he always volunteered to get up with her and many times after I nursed Kenzie he would stay awake with her while I got some sleep. He took such good care of her-when I had to go back to work I was very relieved I was able to leave Kenzie in such good hands!

I know Jeff will continue to be such a great dad! Makenzie & I love you Daddy!!

4 STEPS & Summer fun!!

First I want to share that Makenzie took 4 steps today!! I could not believe it! I stood her up and she actually turned herself around and she took 4 wobbly steps to me!! I thought maybe it was just one time thing but later she took a few more steps to me!! Kenzie loves to climb! At 8 months she was climbing stairs now she can go up a flight of stairs in 2 seconds. She also loves to climb on Abbie's rocking chair & instead of sitting on it she stands on it! I also caught her standing on the seat of the zebra bounce & spin instead of sitting on it!
The weather has been beautiful lately. I love spending the nice days with Kenzie. We have been busy taking walks, going to parks and swimming in the baby pool!
Finally a picture of Kenzie's pearly whites!
Kenzie loves her baby pool...

She also loves to climb & bounce on Sophie & Ella's trampoline.
At the park...
She loved playing with the wood chips!
At the mall my mom and I put Makenzie on one of those 50 cent rides. She loved it!

My new hobby!

I am very happy to write that I have a new hobby....well maybe it's more of an obsession. It seems like I eat, sleep & think about bows. When I am at work I surf the internet finding bow/clip ideas and buying supplies. When I am home I can't wait to go to Michael's or Walmart to buy new ribbon. When I am at the store I find myself lured to the ribbon section daydreaming about all the lovely bows I can make from all the pretty ribbon! I def do not consider myself a very crafty person but my best friend Justine inspired me to make my own bows since she has just recently started making her own bows for her daughter. I am very happy how the clips and korker bows turned out. Some of the bows in the pics were from my first batch of bows so they def aren't perfect but I have the whole summer to practice and get better!!

Even Makenzie got into the bow making fun!!

10 Months!

I can't believe our baby is 10 months old!! No more single digit months! Seriously where does the time go? Let's see what is she up to these days....she loves to crawl and stand on everything. She has just started to let go of objects to stand on her own but she's still a little wobbly! She loves to climb stairs and when she knows I am about to stop her she goes twice as fast. She gives me the best wet and sloppy kisses ever on my mouth when I ask for them! She still gets up a couple times a night to nurse (a habit she started when she was around 6 months...when she was younger she slept the whole night). She still dislikes the church nursery....#18 flashes on the screen to go to the nursery every Sunday in the 1st 10 minutes of the message. I leave to find Kenzie is hysterics but within minutes she calms down and loves to play with the toys (as long as I stay there). She loves dog toys and will get very angry with me if I take them away from her! I could go on and on but I'm sure it will get boring for you....hehe.

Here are 10 pics of Kenzie on her 10 month bday....

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!!

I tried so hard to get a picture of her pretty teeth but it's a lot harder than I thought!! If you look close you might be able to see!
